Think perezhilton.com. Now replace the celebrities with politicians. Polish the writing, but keep it short and snarky. Dump the doodles for full-blown Photoshop, match the readership and — this one’s important — generate the revenue.
Now you know what I’m thinking. I love what I do with yorkrules, but selling bumper stickers on Cafe Press has not yet allowed me to buy a house (I would’ve applied for a no money down sub-prime loan if I knew the government was going to fix my low interest rate for the next 5 years.)
How can I continue this form of creativity and make money? Perez Hilton’s lesson is clear: I must appeal to a large audience. That is something yorkrules will never do (which is at least partly intentional.) With viewers comes advertisers, and I understand they’re the ones with the money.
If you have any thoughts, advice, or a catchy URL (poli-folly? photopolitical?) please leave a comment (then read Ezra Klein’s astute essay from last Sunday’s L.A. Times.)

How about “Halftones and Halfwits”? Too jargony?
